Who is responsible for your data

This website is run by Josh Round, trading as The Ecommerce Specialist, working between the UK and Portugal. I am responsible for the personal data described in this policy.

What I collect

• Details you send me. When you contact me by WhatsApp, email or phone, I receive your name, business name, website address and anything else you choose to include in your message.
• Questions you ask the ecommerce bot. Messages you send to the chatbot on this site are saved so the conversation can be picked up again and so I can see which questions come up most often. A random conversation ID is stored in your browser, not your name or contact details.
• Answers to the store audit. Your audit score and answers are saved in your own browser so you can come back to them later. They stay on your device and are not sent to me.
• Website measurement data. Covered in the next section.

There are no sign-up forms or mailing list pop-ups on this site. I only receive what you actively send me.

Cookies and Google Ads measurement

I run Google Ads campaigns, so this site carries a Google Ads measurement tag (AW-18434577924). It lets me see whether people who clicked an ad went on to contact me, which ads worked and which did not.

That tag is not loaded for visitors in the UK, the European Economic Area or Switzerland. If you are browsing from one of those regions, no Google Ads cookie is set by this site. From anywhere else, Google may set a cookie and record how you interact with ads.

You can stop this at any time by clearing your browser cookies, changing your browser settings, or using Google's Ads Settings at myadcenter.google.com.

How I use your information

• To reply to your enquiry and tell you about the work I can do.
• To deliver services we have agreed, such as a CRO audit, email automations or an AI setup.
• To keep the chatbot's answers useful and accurate.
• To measure how advertising performs and to improve this website.

I do not sell your information, rent it, or use it for anything other than the reasons above.

Who I share it with

Only where it is needed to run the business: the services that host this site and store chatbot conversations, Google for advertising measurement, and WhatsApp (owned by Meta) when you choose to message me there. I may also disclose information if the law requires it.

How long I keep it

Enquiry messages are kept while we work together and for a reasonable period afterwards, so I can pick up where we left off. Chatbot conversations are deleted on request. If you ask me to remove your details, I will, unless I need to keep a record for a legitimate reason such as tax.

Where your information is stored

I work between the UK and Portugal, and some of the services I use process data outside the UK and EU. Where that happens, the providers I use are responsible for putting the right safeguards in place.

How I protect it

This site is served over HTTPS, chatbot conversations are held in a private database that is not open to the public, and access is limited to what is needed to do the work. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, so please only send me what you are comfortable sharing.

Your rights

You can ask me for a copy of the information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, ask me to delete it, ask me to stop using it, or ask for it in a portable format. If you contacted me through WhatsApp or email, your use of those services is also covered by their own privacy policies.

Email joshround19@gmail.com and I will come back to you within 30 days. If you are not happy with how I handle your information, you can complain to your local data protection authority — the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK, or the CNPD in Portugal.

Children

This site is aimed at business owners and is not intended for anyone under 16. I do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If anything here changes, I will update this page and the date at the top. Nothing complicated is planned — if I start collecting anything new, it will be written here first.
